22 August 2015
Nepalese Australian Association (NAA) recently organised Children’s Talent Night (CTN) Show on 23rd May 2015 at Orion Function Centre, Campsie to raise funds for Nepal earthquake relief projects.
NAA has raised a total sum of $31,591 from the program and donations from the members of Australian community, organisations and various businesses combined.
According to Mr. Umesh Panta, the president of Nepalese Australian Association (NAA), the total amount of $31,591 will be handed over to the Prime Minister’s Earthquake Relief Fund and will be used towards helping rebuilding Nepal.
“All proceeds from the program will be used to build schools in and around the earthquake hit zones of Nepal and this will be done jointly with the government of Nepal”, he said.
Mr. Panta said, “on behalf of NAA, I would like to sincerely thank the entire Nepalese and Australian Community along with NAA members, community organisations, sponsors, donors, parents and children participating in Children’s Talent Night 2015, media partners and most importantly all volunteers & supporters of NAA for their significant contribution in making the event successful in raising significant amount of funds.”
NAA organises Children’s Talent Night every two years and this year’s program had much more significance than the previous ones due to the tragic earthquakes that struck Nepal in June this year.
In addition, it was the combination of showcasing the talents of Nepalese children in Australia and fundraising program to support the earthquake victims and survivors in Nepal.
Two popular artists from Nepal, Hemanta Sharma, Prem Pariyar, X-Factor Australia’s top 10 finalists (2014) Jessica Jade, Erin Miranda and Maria Paz had entertained the audiences.
